Lome part II

In Lome, the beach is very wide before it meets the ocean. The people are so poor that many actually live on the beach. They stretched their laundry out all over the beach. I'll include some pictures in another blog.
Craig and kids on the beach.Fishermen.
All of us eating at The Festival Glaces. (I think that was the name. It was an icecream shop that also served food. We ate here most of the time because it was one of the only affordable restaurants within walking distance......and also because it had delicious ice cream.
At the border on the Togo side. We were getting our visas and passports checked and filling out paperwork and Rachel was just making some friends with the guards. You can see Ghana behind them. See the black star on top of that blue arch thing? The black star is a symbal of Ghana (hence the black stars being the name of their soccer/football team).

All very cool, but the photo of Rachel in the guards is awesome.... who would have thought she would be sitting in that space and time... it is truly surreal to think about what you are experiencing. Soak it up!
