As I told you previously, we went on a trip to Togo and to the Volta Region of Ghana. Ghana is separated by regions, like a state is separated by counties. The volta region is said to be the most beautiful of all the regions. We took a tro tro (public transportation by minivan buses) to the town of Hohoe (pronounced hohwe), with only one breakdown along the way, to check into our hotel. We immediately left for the village of Fesi which is just outside the village of Kpandu (pronounced pandu). These women make and fire all the pottery there and it's just a nice laidback environment. We then returned to the hotel to eat and just in time. A huge storm came and knocked out the power in the town many times throughout the night.
After eating dinner and the rains subsided, these snails came out. They were huge!
